Digital Dentures Hingham

CAD/CAM Is Revolutionizing Denture Creation

Happy senior man pointing at his smile

The traditional process for creating dentures is mostly manual. First, an impression is taken, and then a skilled lab technician uses that impression to craft a dental prosthetic. That process works just fine, but it is not always as precise or efficient as would be preferred. Therefore, our Hingham team is proud to offer digital dentures, which are made using sophisticated CAD/CAM techniques. What Are Digital Dentures?

CAD/CAM technology in dental laboratory

Basically, digital dentures are prosthetics that are made with the help of CAD/CAM technology. The exact process can vary between practices and between dental labs, but the main principles always remain the same. After we take an impression of your teeth, it is uploaded into a special software program, which is then used to fine-tune the design of your dentures. Thereafter, a 3D printer can craft the prosthetic out of resin. This process is often faster and more precise overall than what you would expect with old-fashioned denture creation methods.
